    What is the difference between "love" and "like" in Creole?

    We usually use the same translation "renmen" for "love" and "like".

    But often, Creole speakers also use the word "apresye" (appreciate) for "like".

    example:

    I love him. - Mwen renmen li.
    He loves you. - Li renmen ou.

    I like you a lot. - Mwen apresye ou anpil.
    I like you like a brother. - Mwen renmen ou kòm frè mwen.
