Hello! I saw this sentence "Sierra found it - Sierra te jwenn li - What is "te" and why is it there?

te - past tense indicator.

Mwen konprann. → I understand.
Mwen te konprann → I understood.

Mwen la. → I'm here.
Mwen te la. → I was here.

Liv la la. → The book is here.

Li manje. → He eats.
Li te manje. → He ate.
