Can you tell me what "veydenwit" is?

vèydenwi (veille de nuit) can be literally describe as "watch of night" or "night of surveillance"

Vèydenwi is an all-night-long or overnight prayer service in Haitian Christian churches.
The churches usually have this type of service on Friday nights.
