Love Letter to Haiti

Follow my Podcast Here:

Haiti has a way of living inside us — not just as a place on a map, but as a presence, a rhythm, a body with memory. In this week’s episode of Souvni on the Mike, I decided to look at Ayiti through a completely different lens:

If Haiti were a human being, which part of the body would each of the ten departments be?

Suddenly, geography becomes anatomy.
History becomes a heartbeat.
And culture becomes flesh and bone.

From the proud crown of the North, to the steady spine of the Centre, to the quiet, mysterious charm of Nippes, each departman takes on a personality of its own — strong, funny, dramatic, stubborn, loving, and beautifully Haitian.
Explore more with Haiti’s body map or dive into department personalities.

But the fun doesn’t stop there.

Inside La Famille Pòt, Tika, Ovila, and Freya jump into the game too — each one boldly claiming which department THEY would come from based on their attitude. And of course, they can’t resist trying to guess where Dyak would come from.
Are they right?
Or are they loud and wrong?
You’ll have to listen to find out.
Meet the characters through La Famille Pòt dynamics or explore character symbolism.

This episode is a love letter — to Haiti’s land, Haiti’s people, Haiti’s humor, and Haiti’s soul.
It’s culture, comedy, imagination, and pride woven together in a way only Souvni can deliver.

Listen to the full episode now — and let Haiti walk, breathe, and laugh right in front of you.
Then check out the TikTok Reel “Foufoun Ayiti” to see the visual twist that brings the whole idea to life.
