For Tika, this is the day elegance met a mouse, and declined the invitation. Tika has no time to practice running from a rodent. Her schedule is fully booked with practicing elegance the way some people practice religion. So when the mouse entered the house, she stepped into the hallway just in time to see a tiny blur sprint across the floor, and her entire spirit rejected the situation on sight. Tika lifted her chin, clutched her satin pillow, and announced that she did not have time for a creature that doesn’t even pay rent. To her, elegance is a lifestyle, and rodents are an interruption. She positioned herself on top of the sofa like a queen avoiding peasantry and declared she would not be participating in any mouse related activities. If the mouse wanted to stay, it needed a lease, a security deposit, and a background check. Otherwise, it could find lodging elsewhere. In Tika’s world, beauty is duty, and battling rodents is simply not part of her beauty routine.
