Yon is Haitian Creole for the indefinite articles: a & an
It is also used to translate "one" sometimes.
Example:
I have a car.
Mwen gen yon machin.

Is this a house or a boat?
Eske sa se yon kay oubyen yon bato?

I saw one bird.
Mwen te wè yon zwazo.

They have one child.
Yo gen yon timoun.

Lesson 10 - Indefinite Article

The indefinte articles Yon or On always precede the noun.

You may use YON or ON interchangeably.

1. Yon gason - A man

2. On gason - A man
