But can someone form St. Lucia understand a Haitian and visa-verse?

Both Haitian and Saint Lucian Creole have French, Spanish, English, native Indian, African and other origin. A good percentage of the vocabulary's the same. But these two languages could not be any more different.

In my conversations with Saint Lucians, at times I'll get what they were talking about and other times I would be completely lost. I do better when I read their Creole. I imagine it's the same for them when it comes to Haitian Creole.

Which Creole word would you use to translate the verb "to pain"? as in: It pains me to see you go.

Pain v. (sadden or afflict?) → fè mal,  fè lapenn, atriste

It pains me to see you go.
Sa fè m mal pou m wè w ale.
Sa fè m lapenn pou m wè w ale.
or
Sa atriste m pou m wè w ale.


It saddens me.

How do you say "Get out of here!" precisely?

You know, in Haitian Creole, sometimes there are no precise way of saying one thing. You may hear it one way in Port-Au-Prince, and a different way in the North and South. So I cannot tell you how to say it precisely, but I can tell you the different terms you'll hear for that one sentence :)
