ReplyDeleteThe following words are frequently used synonyms of "dèske":
Paske → because
Piske → since
akòz → because of
poutèt → because
Examples:
Mwen paka sòti DESKE mwen malad.
I can't go out SINCE I'm ill.
Nou ale lakay nou DESKE pa't gen class.
We went home SINCE there were no class.
Mèsi DESKE nou te vini.

And you are right to put "ki" in parentheses. You may omit it altogether.
