Bonjou zanmi, Mèsi anpil pou vizit ou!
Thank you for visiting the Haitian Creole blog.
If you're having difficulty finding some posts on this blog, here's a little information on where to start looking.
For basic GREETINGS & INTRODUCTION CLICK ON Greetings and Introduction, or Many ways to say HI or HELLO
Find GRAMMAR EXERCISES about verbs, adjectives, pronouns, demonstratives, contractions and more HERE. Or check the labels to the right side of the computer screen with overhead title "Lessons and Exercises on the Following Subjects".
For some listening and speaking skills, find some AUDIO POSTS HERE
There are so many ways to say "HONEY'" or "SWEETIE" or "I LOVE YOU" in Haitian Creole, And I get these questions a lot. So I've compiled most of these questions and answers HERE.
Another very helpful tool is the CUSTOM GOOGLE SEARCH rectangular window above. It SEARCHES THE ENTIRE BLOG. So enter a word or sentence to see if it was discussed previously.
Finally, you can ask questions in the ASK ME ANYTHING section above left. I especially love to have your questions because it does contribute to the available resources on this blog.
There are also some CROSSWORD PUZZLES (for beginners mostly) and other useful links to the left side of the computer screen as you scroll down..
Find ONLINE QUIZZES to test your knowledge HERE. No need to sign in.
And find some useful and interesting IDIOMS AND EXPRESSIONS HERE

This navigator is great thing. Sometimes I have problems to find some terms or expressions on this page but now that will be whole lot easier. Please, expand this navigator even more.
ReplyDeletePS. I was wondering what happened with reply you wrote some few months ago " chita bo lanme, anba yon pye kokoye,......" I cannot find it, but never mind.
Congratulations on this move, from day to day this site expanding definitely in the best resource for learning Kreyol language. I mean it!
I know you have wrote the book for learning kreyol, but maybe now it's time for another one, more comprehensive and thorough book. You have talent, knowledge and everything else needed for that project. Almost all book about kreyol language available on the market in US today lack systematicity or they are written mostly in popular way to serve for everyday needs of peoplewho travel to Haiti.
Think about it, Manda!
Btw, are you linguist or something?I have never asked you that question.
Anmize ou, zanmi m!
One thing more...The pic is GREAT!
ReplyDeleteKonpliman!
Mèsi pou tout konpliman sa yo :)
ReplyDeleteYou are too sweet.
I'm not a linguist.
I'm a translator.
I am, however, studying the Creole language in depth.
You will be interested to know that often times, in the Haitian Creole language, the view of the linguists and translator clashes.
Roger Savain, Yves Dejean, and Jean-Marie Mapou are perfect examples. These guys (and others before them) have created so many gray areas in the language that it's enough to confuse the learner. But it's great that they continue to work together. That's the key.
Roger Savain and Jean-Marie Mapou (the guys who started the Haitian Creole "alphabetization movement") are my primary go-to resources. I'm always thankful for their advice.
Right now, I am truly having fun writing the blog. I'm working to make it more user-friendly.
Now... about that reply :), I felt it was too explicit. I tend to get carried away (too often :(
Mwen apresye ide ou.
Kout chapo bon zanmi m :)
