Why is the verb "beni" spelled without an accent yet pronounced without a nasal vowel? By normal spelling rules, shouldn't the "en" be a nasal vowel?
The syllables for 'beni' are 'be-ni', therefore making it possible for no accent.
Mesi aanpiiill pou kontinye kenpe sit sa a! Mwen kontan anpil twouve ke ou ap kontinye ede moun yo ki vle aprann kreyol a! Mesi pou ede ou a! Thank you sooooo much for continuing to keep this VALUABLE resource up! I used it actively five years ago to gain proficiency. I can NOT tell you how thrilled I am, to have come back with the mission to master Kreyol, and found that you're still kindly and patiently helping people learn.
Thank you for the explanation. I'm a beginning learner and didn't understand the difference the syllable break would make.
